Tea post-mortem with Louisa
LOUISA
Well, Fitzwilliam, has this little episode thrown your equilibrium out of kilter?
DARCY
What do you mean?
LOUISA
You're being coy again. Should we start planning a double wedding?
DARCY
Miss Bennet stil despises me, Louisa.
LOUISA
Well, we'll see about that. I had a little chat with Mrs. Gardiner.
DARCY
About what?
LOUISA
Do you think I want to see you married to my sister while you continue pining for Elizabeth Bennet for the rest of your life?
DARCY
I will not be marrying your sister.
LOUISA
I know. That's obvious by now.
DARCY
Well I hope it's obvious to her.
LOUISA
You have my approval to court Miss Bennet, Fitzwilliam, in case you feel you need it.
DARCY
A lot of good that will do me.
LOUISA
I'm going to tell Charles the same thing. He might as well go back to Hertfordshire and marry Jane Bennet.
DARCY
Do me a favour and wait until your sister has removed herself from Pemberley before you tell her.
LOUISA
Well, unfortunately for you, I'm off to Essex soon, so I won't have to put up with Caroline. She's all yours.
DARCY
Why aren't you taking her with you?
LOUISA
I quite like that Mrs. Gardiner. I hope she can overlook my little cross-examination.
