Darcy's valet lights a fire under Mrs. Reynolds
SNELGROVE
Mrs. Reynolds. A word, please.
MRS. REYNOLDS
What is it? I've got the laundry to check on.
SNELGROVE
Did your husband send off that express to Mr. Darcy? To have him return early?
MRS. REYNOLDS
Of course. But I didn't realize you were aware of it.
SNELGROVE
You'll have some travellers touring the house tomorrow.
MRS. REYNOLDS
What? With the master returning?
SNELGROVE
Yes.
MRS. REYNOLDS
But we've already closed off the public rooms.
SNELGROVE
Well, open them up.
MRS. REYNOLDS
I beg your pardon.
SNELGROVE
I'll help.
MRS. REYNOLDS
But I'll need a note from the master.
SNELGROVE
Remember that young lady from Hertfordshire that I was telling you about?.
MRS. REYNOLDS
Hertfordshire?
SNELGROVE
The young lady the master met there last autumn.
MRS. REYNOLDS
Oh, my word. The very one?
SNELGROVE
The very one.
MRS. REYNOLDS
What's she doing all the way up in Derbyshire? I didn't think she was the sort to chase a gentleman.
SNELGROVE
She's not. Her aunt and uncle may have to drag her here.
MRS. REYNOLDS
Heavens. I'll have to keep them here till the master gets back.
SNELGROVE
Hope he's got a fast horse.
